Acrylics, Oils & Watercolors
GabriellaFiabane.com

To me, painting is a way of recording meditation; like writing in a journal but with a more sophisticated language that enables me to reach others beyond the barriers of linguistics, culture and beliefs.

I mainly work with watercolors on paper and acrylics on canvas. At times I supplement my acrylic work with pastels, charcoal and pencils. My watercolor paintings could be defined as atmospheric and minimalist. My aim is to capture the feeling of the moment and the space, with sparse detail and frugal brush work, the end result being a meditation in water and color.  My acrylic paintings are larger in format and mostly abstract or abstracted personal reality. I work on different series at the same time, exploring various subjects and techniques threaded together by spirituality, thoughts and emotions.

Painting is a way of extracting my truth, putting it out there, and hopefully developing a dialogue with the viewer.
